Who am I?
My name is Frans Villanen, and I live in Vaasa. In my daily life, I work as a Team and Competence Manager in the media industry. I am a sitting member of the Vaasa City Board & Council. I also serve as the Chairman of the Board for the Regional Council of Ostrobothnia. I hold a Master’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Education.
I stand for modern politics, where we work together to create strong future prospects for Vaasa and Finland. We must dare to invest in tomorrow’s workforce: children, young people, and students. My politics are driven by a desire to create a better future. I work for a Vaasa where we invest in young people, where education is given sufficient resources, work is rewarded, and businesses thrive.
In practical terms, over the next four years, we should, among other things, ensure the development of the old Wärtsilä area into a national landmark and push forward the artificial ice project. We must continue to promote a daily life filled with activities rather than screen time at home. Additionally, we need to continuously improve our connections, both nationally and internationally as well as make sure that integration works.
Outside of work and politics, I enjoy sports and physical activity in various forms. My summers are filled with football, cycling, and running, while winters are mainly spent on the ski trails.
As a person, I am curious and solution-oriented. This, combined with my social skills and a desire to develop and improve, has made me who I am today. Feel free to reach out with any questions – I am happy to answer!
